Pages, numbers, keynote, iPhoto and iMovie not free for my Ipad Air

This also worked on the ipad App Store application. I didn't want to download all of the Apple apps and then they were not free in the App Store. if you force-close the App Store and reopen, then the Apple apps that come with a new ipad show up as free. Probably a restart would do the same.

Read all the rest posts below. Didn't work. Contacted Apple Support and Naveen solved my problem in minutes by giving me a itunes code to redeem. Problem solved! Save your time and go to Apple Support Heroes :)

i just bought a new ipad 4 16gb wifi. pages, numbers and keynote are not free only garageband. what should i do?

As of this morning Apple Apps: Pages, Keynote, Numbers, iPhoto are no longer free in the App Store for a newly registered device. Well, that is my current experience. I've setup over 2500 iPads and this morning the first two I set up have the Apple Apps listed for a price. I've tried logging in / out of the apple store on the device. I've tried a hard reset. Now I'm just here to complain. :-/

I've just bought my new iMac Dec 2013. I can't seem to download Pages, Numbers & Keynotes apps for free? I think the Apple website they're for all iOs 7 compatible device that have been activated on or after 1 September 2013.

Please kindly advice.

Your iPad & Mac run on different operating systems & there are separate versions of the apps for each OS.. Getting a new Mac only qualifies you for the Mac versions of the iWork apps. If you haven't purchased a new iOS device since September 1, 2013, you will have to buy the iOS versions in the iTunes Store.

Had the same Problem on my iPad Mini 2.

Solution: Just klicked the "buy"-button in the store (9.99€) --> Pages downloaded an installed for free.

PS: It asks for password, dont worry and confirm, anyway it had to ask you again about payment, but it will say that this 'update' is free for your account. Easiest way.
