I do not want all internet accounts sync'd across all computers. I do not want my personal email on my work computer and my work email on my personal computer. How do I set that up for which accounts on which computers?

just happened to me, too.
It used to be separated until this morning. I have not done anything and now all my emails account are all over the place. VERY VERY ANNOYING.
I think I am done with apple this time, this is too much, next computer will be a PC.

I do had the same problem with syncing (app-specific google) passwords via keychain for multiple devices (mac Mini in the office, imac at home and macbook air):
the google password should be different for each devices, but keychain syncs them ... so only one device is working.
to stop syncing passwords between devices (but keep keychain-sync ON) following helped me:
*on each device:
-open apple mail -> settings -> Accounts
-select the google account in the list
-change to the 3rd tab "Erweitert" ("extended"? ... I have german osx!)
-uncheck the box "Accounteinstellungen automatisch erkennen und übernehmen" (??"Account settings auto-sync")
*then on each device:
-then create new app specific google passwords for each device and enter the pwd in the email app -> settings -> Accounts -> Accountinformations -> password
If you have multiple google accounts eg "company" and "private" ... you do need to create different app specific pwd for each google account and every device! and enter the pwd into the apple mail account settings.

This did not help me at all. The “Allow approving using security code” button/check box does not exist on my version. The system continues to ask me for a code sent to a telephone number I no longer have. For this reason I am unable to use this feature. However, then I tried to turn off Keychain in iCloud, by unchecking the box, it immediately rechecks the box. Apparently it cannot be turned off. And now I am being spammed for the security code that was sent to a telephone number that is long gone, for a service provider in another country, that will NEVER EVER be recovered. So why is this number still in the system? How can I remove it and replace it with my current iPhone number? Why does the Keychain in iCloud remain on (stating "awaiting for approval from other device")? I have wasted many hours battling this. VERY VERY IRRITATING AND COSTLY IN TIME. This bug must be fixed. (These bugs, actually).
There's onlye one way to go – that really works – and works easy.
Get a second mail client! Use Mail on one computer and your second mail client on another.
There's plenty to choose from. Take a look in the App Store.
That said – Mail is my favorite because it's simple and it has rules.
Rules is my favorite feature – because it can sort your mails for you.
