Desktop icons keep refreshing and if finder is open it hides it.

Do you have Google Drive installed? My computer started doing this as well, and uninstalling Google Drive fixed the issue.

I simply closed Google drive from the upper right menu, and the behavior stopped, without a complete uninstall at this point.

I have the same problem, but it started yesterday i have not installed or opened google drive from mavericks release date, however closing it seems to fix the problem.

I turned off Google Drive, & no desktop redraws so far.

Yay for background updates, NOT. I have it set to ask, I know I clicked ok to Googe App sometime recently so that was probably it.

Definitely Google Drive. I just quit it and all is well. No more desktop looping.

Google has issued a fix for this, which requires you quit and re-launch the Google Drive application (or just restart your Mac).

I know this is an old discussion, but it happens to me and it's frickin' annoying. I have uninstalled G-Drive completely and behavior did not stop. I do not know what else to do, I even uninstalled all other Google product, Chrome, Earth etc.

Hardware: MacBookPro (13-inch, Mid 2010), CPU: 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, RAM: 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3, Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB.

Software: OSX Yosemite (10.10.5)
