how do you know boom is installed?

I don't download illegal software the only reason I had to use utorrent is because the dmg file for Libre Office is torrent format. Libre Office if freeware software it is like Microsoft Word but its free.

The Original Boom I installed was a free trial after 30 days I delete it in the trash can I thought that was how you uninstall on Mac Osx.

There does not need to be an icon for a process modifying OS X to remain installed. If you provided your user name and password in response to an installer's request for your credentials, merely dragging an application's icon to the Trash is almost never the correct way to uninstall it. If you don't uninstall such things properly, not only will they continue to affect your system, adverse effects may result from an incomplete installation. Boom is a system modification known to cause problems, and from what you describe it was not completely uninstalled.

If you do not know how to uninstall a system modification, ask its developer for assistance.

Google Drive is another problem: finder crashes with maverick. If you want your Mac to run well, uninstall anything Google installed on your Mac including the resource-hogging Chrome.

Wireshark has been known to cause problems even in earlier OS X versions. Determine if it has been updated for Mavericks, use the correct version for your Mac, and if you do not need it, get rid of it.
