Ipad air low memory crash

I came to this forum to see if other ipad air owners are experiencing same problem with low memory crashing as I do but seems like I'm one of the few people have this. So far I have 10 low memory crash reports. I also have about 30 more crash reports but it's from various apps. I got my ipad air on the launch day, second in line, here in California. Maybe I just have a defective one, I don't know. If you have same issues, please reply so I can determine if I should return it or just live with it. Closing apps every day is a hassle. I wish Apple just put in extra gig of ram. Overall, I am extremely happy with my ipad. There are so many good this things to mention about this ipad but this is wrong thread to do that.

My guess is that there is a threshold of used RAM after which you get a crash. It's probably about releasing memory or something.

7.1 probably fixed something in Safari that raised the threshold, nut it's still there.

I get fewer crashes on a site that had a lot before. As I use the site during the day I get a few more crashes. I also seem to get them with rapid zooms and page refreshes. That tells me memory isn't getting released.

It's much better, but I still wonder why no one outside Apple has posted anything about the why. Or even what changes to the code Apple made.

Wow, I reviewed this thread six weeks ago and people are still having problems. Wake up and smell the coffee. If you are Apple lovers, just wait for the next disappointing IOS version that over promises and under delivers. I have spent a small fortune in Apple products over the last 20 years. Yes, I bought a Newton MP2000. I have every version of the iPad, each was a waste of money! I can't even hand them down to my kids, they prefer other brands other than Apple. Yes, Samsung makes a better product! Plastic...really, I would rather have a plastic product that works than a stamped aluminum product that does not meet my expectations.

Okay Apple lovers, before you get ******-off and respond with nasty replies...Apple is a great technology company. The problem is they want to spoon feed new features to the public to maximize sales. When will the iPad get more than 1GB of RAM? Probably 2020 with the new iPad Nitrogen and IOS 13. It will have the new cataract display and a titanium case.

Can't wait to see the responses to this post. Apple lovers, demand a better product! Stop accepting the mediocre crap that we have been brain washed to think is the best. You are being manipulated into buying more often than necessary.

Hahahahahaha 😁

I have a lot of Apple products... I agree about this iOS produts! I sold my iPad Air after some months. Constantly Safari crashes and lack of handle more than one tab: re-loads, re-loads and re-loads!

Of course this is a ram-problem! The cheapest tablet on the market have at least 2GB ram today.

I bought a Windows tablet. It works very stable, not as quick as the iPad Air - BUT very stable!

Apple´s update of ram in the future (2020) going to be a overwhelmingly party! Now the iPad have 1.1GB RAM - WOW!!!
