Ipad air low memory crash

I came to this forum to see if other ipad air owners are experiencing same problem with low memory crashing as I do but seems like I'm one of the few people have this. So far I have 10 low memory crash reports. I also have about 30 more crash reports but it's from various apps. I got my ipad air on the launch day, second in line, here in California. Maybe I just have a defective one, I don't know. If you have same issues, please reply so I can determine if I should return it or just live with it. Closing apps every day is a hassle. I wish Apple just put in extra gig of ram. Overall, I am extremely happy with my ipad. There are so many good this things to mention about this ipad but this is wrong thread to do that.

Mine does the white screen/Apple logo 3-4 times a day. It's not limited to Safari or iTunes or whatever. For me it'll do it when loading other apps, like Simpsons Tapped Out or Clash of Clans and more (mostly happens the moment I load an app). It even did it once while scrolling through the apps list (that screen where you double-tap the home button).

Really REALLY lame.

i have posted here before got post taken down also...

it seemed to work since my last post about 2 weeks ago but have started to crash constantly since the beginning of the week... both on wifi and cellular... so i restore it last night to factory... no apps but still crashes both on safari and chrome / on wifi and cellular.... whats going on.

so what say you

i cant connect to itunes to restore and i should not have to. i do not have a pc nor a mac... and i do not want to exchange it for a refurbish one. Why because its only 6 weeks old.

Can i return it for a new one?

Lsmith,

I'm hoping the recent release of iOS 7.1 beta 2 includes a fix for the itunes app crashing, etc. The details on what this coming update includes are scant... the online media focuses on the eye-candy (faster animations, etc) but lite on details on what bugs it addresses.

Are you holding on to your ipad air? I'm on the fence whether to wait hoping a fix is coming or return it and monitor the situation. My gut tells me Apple will fix it, they won't let this persist (the senior advisor was clear that this itunes app crash bug was a top priority for the engineers).

SteveCDA,

So, I am holding onto the Air for only one reason, I gifted my old iPad to my mother when I bought this new one - I am not going to ask for it back.

If I hadn't done that then I would return the Air and re-buy in 6 months.

I got this email from support:

Hello again,

This is just a quick follow-up to your previous request. I wanted to ensure that your iTunes Store issue has been taken care of. I am looking forward to your reply so that I can be certain it has been fully resolved.

Sincerely,

Golda

I want to to see the second sentence - where the support agent assures me the issue is resolved. Well, since this email I have had several identical crashes as I showed on my YouTube video - so no it's not fixed!

Lsmith, thanks but I'm not a technical person, just persistent. Also the video you posted on YouTube was most useful (which I had shared with the senior advisor). So I really appreciated that!

I'm confused by the email Apple sent you. What did they do that made them think that the issue was resolved? ...perhaps you may want to ask them to help you use the "iPhone Configuation utility" to capture the error logs as my senior advisor did with me. The link below is the utility download page if you use a Mac. That's what gave them the insight into the iTunes crash on my ipad air. He had told me that the iTunes app and other Apple apps that come with the ipad are effectively part of iOS. Basically extensions of the iOS itself. So if one is acting screwy that causes the iOS to become unstable.

When a Safari page will not load, and the wheel is just spinning, I can "fix" this by running a memory clearing app, then returning to Safari. Doesn't this indicate that the problem is software fixable? Hopefully memory is just not being properly released by the IOS, and one gig of RAM is adequate. I've sold my old iPad, so I really don't want to return the Air.
