iCal events keep reverting to 'new event'

Hello all,

I recently upgraded to OS X Mavericks. My iCal keeps having the same problem. I create a new event and fill out the text box. However, after a few minutes the iCal event is still visible, but my text has revereted back to the default 'new event' text box. Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can change this please?! This happens across personal 'calendar' accounts, as well as shared. Your urgent help would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

Kacper

kacperfromgbr,

Go to Calendar>Preferences...>Accounts>and experiment with changing the "Refresh Calendars:" interval.

I'm getting the same issue - my workaround so far is to close the event after each individual edit and reopen - e.g.

double click for new event - change title, close

open event - change calendar - close

open event - change location - close

open event - change times - close....

etc. etc. very boring, but then the edits seem to stick...

I tried changing the refresh, had no effect.

This happens to me too. It's driving me CRAZY!!! I'm not encouraged to see that people have been having this problem for two years and double entering their appointments is the best solution we have? This has only started since I updated to the iPhone6 so I wonder if there's a correlation, but it's only happening with events on my computer. I think. Before I realized it, it changed things so I have "new events" coming up and I have no idea what they are!! This is crazy. Any other suggestions would be very welcome.

YES this is so annoying. I have figured out that if I make a new event, and change the calendar at the same time, then several seconds after I finish editing it reverts to the name "New Event", and all changes other than the selected calendar are lost. I can change everything else and it's fine, then change the calendar after it's sat for a few seconds and it will be okay.

HOWEVER - this is not exclusive to new events. If I go to an existing event, and edit info and the calendar, then a few seconds later any changes I've made revert to before the edit, and the only thing that sticks is the new calendar.

Selecting "open events in separate windows" doesn't seem to affect the issue for me.

Looks like I need to see if this happens at the apple store...

Same problem here. I have very good connectivity (Ethernet), and never had this problem with reverting to "New Event" before Mavericks (still on my iMac) I have the same problem in Yosemite on my laptop.

What I have noticed is that it doesn't happen when I enter an event in my default calendar, only for entries in other calendars. Editing the defective event (the one that lost all my entry and appeared only as "New Event") by repeating all the date entry always works. And I never see an "Apply" button.

I tried changing the Preferences from "Push" to 5 minutes, then quitting Calendar, and restarting. It didn't help.
