Cannot save Image Capture scans to Mac mini

When I upgraded to Mavericks o/s, my Epson WF-3540 scanner was left behind. Epson said to use Image Capture until they have updated the scanner driver. When I open Image Capture, it does a preview scan automatically with the document name and location from the previous time I tried to scan with it, then when I click "Scan," I get a window that says, "Done scanning selected areas." I don't think it has scanned the image and if it did, it was not saved anywhere I can find it. There isn't an option for me to save the scanned image, either. Please help. I'll have to use this until Epson catches up...

I cannot give a new name to anything I want to scan--when I open Image Capture, it automatically "pre-scans" the image with the name of the previous scan I tried. After it pre-scans, I can rename it. But then when I click on "scan," it says it already scanned the document. I did try saving to the desktop, but it does not save anything anywhere. I have a newer Epson; maybe it is not as compatible as your old one.
