SSD Upgrade on Late 2013 MBP Retina

I would like to upgrade my SSD on my macbook pro retina late 2013 model it has 512 in it currently and I want to goto 1TB I know its $500 I am willing to pay the difference but apple is saying its is soldered on the logic board. Which clearly is not true. I got my laptop at bestbuy because my old one broke and bestbuy replaced it with a newer model. I would of gotten it from apple but I had to get it from BestBuy since they replaced it.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

STate's of damage is cause by the service, so as long as you don't break it and the drive doesn't cause cause damage then you're good. Everything except the drive will be covered.

f) to damage caused by service (including upgrades and expansions) performed by anyone who is not a representative of Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider (“AASP”); (g) to an Apple Product that has been modified to alter functionality or capability without the written permission of Apple; (h) to defects caused by normal wear and tear or otherwise due to the normal aging of the Apple Product, or ℹ if any serial number has been removed or defaced from the Apple Product.

Apple will replace with original equipment for a fee. You are free always to self-service (OWC sells SSDs and pentalobe screwdrivers), but Genius Bar may consider the self-service grounds to refuse future service (if you broke something else, they do not want to be blamed for the side-damage). External storage may be your best solution.

Apple does not extend expired warranties.

But ... this is not saying you are foolish to buy a larger SSD on your own and following iFixit instructions if you are ready to accept the risks.
