2nd Seagate Goflex Desk Thunderbolt Adapter-Daisy or direct connect?

I presently have one Seagate Seagate Goflex Desk Thunderbolt Adapter connected to my Imac and a second thunderbolt port available. Connected by USB 2 is a second Seagate drive. Today I bought a second Thunderbolt adapter to replace my USB 2 Seagate adapter. Should I daisy chain the 2nd hard drive to the first drive I have or connect it directly to the second open thunderbolt port? Normally the second drive is for time machine but sometimes I disconnect it and plug in a Seagate drive from the front room to transfer large movie files.

I am probably going to try testing file transfer speeds using both scenarios but likely some of you know this answer without testing.
