iPhone 5 Wont Sync Music w/iTunes 11.1.3

Ever since I updated to iTunes 11.1.3 on my Macbook Pro, I cannot get it to sync music to my iPhone 5! I tried using normal sync and I tried using Manually manage music and videos...nothing! It begins to sync and then...done!

Help please?

Well after trying different solutions. I did the following to get my ipad to sync itunes playlists.

1) Switch wifi off the ipad.

2) Conected to my iMac via th ecable

3) (after a few diffenrent attempts) I then unticked the the sync Music at the top of the music tab

4) Applied/synced

5) then re selected the sync music box then applied/sync

6) after a mo check my music app and finally they went up.

I've been having this same problem since I got my iPhone 5s back in October. New songs and changes to playlists are not syncing to my phone. I have to wipe all the music from my phone, and then re-sync to add it back. This is a bit time consuming, so it would be nice if Apple could fix this glitch! It seems like there are enough people having issues syncing music to where this is clearly a bug.

After several tries and a couple of weeks this method finally worked.

Turned off WIFI on iPhone.

connected USB cable to computer

unchecked sync all music under the music tab. then applied.

closed itunes. then reopened.

rechecked sync all music under music tab. all music. then applied.

music is now syncing back to phone.

double checked my iphone and all music is back on phone. and playing. YAY!!!!!

Hey guys!

I actually found a solution that's worked for me twice (so far). After trying everything, it seems to be easier than I thought. No need to restore via backup or anything. Beforehand, I've tried unchecking music, rechecking, turning off wifi sync, restoring purchases after a failed music sync, restoring, etc, etc. You name it.

Here's my solution that might work for the majority of everyone.

  1. Plug your iPhone into your computer, then go into iTunes.
  2. uncheck your music sync under the music tab in iTunes so all of it gets taken off your phone.
  3. After you sync it, and all of your songs are off (Shouldn't take longer than 5 minutes). Go on your iPhone, then Settings - General - go all the way to the bottom where it says Reset - Reset all settings
  4. This should just reset your settings, but it won't remove any of your data, messages, home icon/folder locations, contacts, photos, etc.
  5. After it's done resetting, and your phone restarts, go to your itunes, and sync again.
  6. After it's done syncing, recheck your music sync under the music tab on itunes (You don't have to reselect your playlists, etc)
  7. Sync your phone, and voila! Your music should sync back. It's worked for me twice after numerous attempts at other solutions.

(Note, when you reset all settings, you just need to add back your wallpaper, passcodes, and location services after you sync your music back on. It acts like you're deleting cookies off of your browser. Nothing gets deleted).

Hopefully this works for some of you that continue to have problems. It only takes me about 30 minutes to resync everything back in if the problem comes up in my playlist with 1,900 songs (so it's a hassel unchecking and rechecking each song that has a problem D: )

This worked for me on the iPad Air and a personally created playlist. Just to rule out any bad playlists, I removed all playlists except one to test and using that method works as a workaround. My guess is you might need to avoid any Smart Playlists using this fix.

Yes Apple needs to fix the glitch, but this is working on the short-term for my issue.

I was having a similar problem syncing music to my iPhone 5, I tried all options I read here and nothing worked until I tried this:

iPhone 5 wifi turned off >plug into iTunes using USB > in the 'summary' section of iTunes under 'OPTIONS' check only 'manually manage music and videos'

Then go to the sidebar area find 'Devices >iPhone 5 then click the little black arrow so a drop down menu appears with all that is on your device... click on "music" then you will notice the 'Autofill section on the bottom (as pictured) > click on the dropdown box and select the correct option to 'Autofill from' like selecting "music' so all your music is synced.

This helped me after 2 hours of frustration...

I hope it helps!!
