Why my macbook pro is too slow?

My MBP system contains

Intel i7 2.7ghz

8GB ram

500gb hdd

My macbook pro is really slow for logic performance. One my recent song project where i used some mendatory plugins from waves bundle, but later when i reopened the project i cant even play, is stucks with a message. I tried the same project on my friend's MBP which is core i5, 2.3ghz, 4 gb ram. its working perfectly there, even i can use more plugins, but it never stucks. My mbp is getting slower. i cant multitask programs, it becomes slow, while logic is opened, if i play a video either Youtube or from hdd, its really slow and stucks.

Any solution? anybody ?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5), intel i7 2.7ghz

Use the Activity Monitor to identify what processes are hogging your resources.

Don't automatically startup applications that aren't needed.

Hey guys! I have a macbook pro 2012 15" 2,3ghz intel core i7 4gb DDR3, and i think its slower than a mac mini i5 that I use to work. My apps takes some seconds bouncing icon before starting up, sometimes even slower than my old macbook white core 2 duo. I've recently made a clean install of Mavericks and I'm still not satisfied with the performance, im' sure it could work better. Any tips? Should I worry about?

Thankss!!

You should really start your own post instead of latching on to one that's 3 months old.

However, you should get more RAM. Your stats indicate that you've used virtual memory because you ran out of real memory. Virtual memory (Using the hard drive) is significantly slower than real memory.
