Can I use an iPhone as an iPod touch?

You don't have to reset the phone, but it's cleaner to do it that way.

What do you do to activate the old iphone4 if you have a Verizon CDMA that does not have a SIM Card ?

I have an iPhone from Verizon when they first introduced it on their network. From what I can tell it has no user accessible SIM card. I reset everything and every time I turn it on it wants me to activate it. I have a new iPhone on Verizon and don't want to activate the old one. I just want to use it as an iTouch without seeing the "activate" message every time. Is that possible? TIA.

I have an iPhone 4/Verizon that is no longer activated but I would like to give it to my son to use as an itouch. I also get the 'activate' message every time and have had no luck getting imessage to activate. Just says 'waiting for activation.' I have tried severeal suggestions - set up the phone as new, resetting network settings, etc. Any advice or help much appreciated!

Where is the sims card on an iPhone 3G 3GS?

The iPhone 3G/3GS has the sim tray located at the top of the Phone near the power button.

Use a tool, or paperclip to open the tray.
