What can I do if my iPhone short circuit?

I was walking home from school and my screen has been cracked a long time without a problem but then suddenly the iPhone just turned off and I can't get it on again. I lost everything I had on there and my phone without any warning. It was an iPhone 4 and I know other people that have been in the same situation. Help?

iPhone 4, iOS 7

The first thing you can try is a reset. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. If that won't work, it is possible the screen has finally failed. If you have been backing the device up regularly in iTunes or iCloud, you can either get an out of warranty replacement at a significantly lower price than a new device, or a new device. You can then restore one of those to the backup you have been maintaining.

With a cracked/damaged device, you have found out the hard way, that is isn't if the device is going to fail as you know that it will because it is already damaged, it is when.
