Scrolling not working on browser(s)

Ever since a the mavericks update i've been having problems with scrolling on chrome, safari and firefox. 2 hand scrolling function would not work on the browsers at time, and I would have to quit the browsers and open it again. Sometimes it still persists after i quit the applications and is happening on a consistent basis. A few times per day.

This is not a hardware issue as I have tried scrolling with a usb mouse and scrolling still failed to work.

Any quick solution?

Thanks

MacBook Pro (13-inch Early 2011), OS X Mavericks (10.9)

I contacted Apple support here in Sweden and got a tip that works for me.

I have set right top corner as a active corner that shuts the screen off. Whenever my scroll stops working, I drag the pointer to that corner so the screen shuts off. I wait for 3-5 seconds and then move the pointer to wake the screen again, and then my scrolling starts working.

It actually works for me. 🙂

^That worked for me. Thanks!

I am having the same problem with Safari 6.1.1, except I am still on Lion (10.7.5). Random webpages will not scroll. And the "sleep corner" solution does not work for me.

I have to copy the url, close the tab or window, open a new tab or window and paste the url to get the scrolling to work.

VERY annoying.

I have not noticed the problem in any other application.

You know, I'm a long-time Mac fan, but I've never had this kind of annoying crap using Windows.

I use Jitouch, a third party program that lets you use multiple touch gestures to your preference. When my scroll stops working, Jitouch scroll gestures still works. For example:

Two finger scroll stops working i Safari or any other web browser. Three finger scroll works fine. (I have set three finger scroll to "scroll to top/scroll to bottom" in Jitouch)

[Apologies: In my excitement about fixing a trackpad scrolling problem I added this post w/o realizing that the OP was discussing a Bluetooth mouse problem. If I can figure out how to delete this post, I will.]

There's another fix in https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5511186?start=15&tstart=0, see srdjanfromheiddelberg's post of March 19, 2014. The discussion's about Chrome and Safari, but I mostly use Firefox and this fix worked for me.
