Scrolling not working on browser(s)

Ever since a the mavericks update i've been having problems with scrolling on chrome, safari and firefox. 2 hand scrolling function would not work on the browsers at time, and I would have to quit the browsers and open it again. Sometimes it still persists after i quit the applications and is happening on a consistent basis. A few times per day.

This is not a hardware issue as I have tried scrolling with a usb mouse and scrolling still failed to work.

Any quick solution?

Thanks

So what doesn't work, specifically? Two-fingered scrolling on a trackpad?

I've been using this with Mavericks since the first beta and it's always worked great. If scrolling isn't working for you, by chance do you have any extensions that my be trying to grab the gesture? Have you looked in your trackpad gestures to see that scrolling isn't enabled?

I don't think this is a problem with the OS; it's either a probem with software you have installed, or something else.

You are not the only one with this issue. I have been having this issue on a laptop that shipped with Mavericks. I purchased my MacBook Pro with Retina Display (15 inch) in late October and picked it up in early November. I took it into the Apple Store where they re-installed Mavericks, but I still find that it stops scrolling. Since taking my laptop in to get "fixed", it has shutoff on me unexplainably many times. I will be taking my laptop back in to see what they can do once the semester is over.

Just throwing my hat in the ring also. Having the same issue as some have described here: Magic mouse scrolling in the browser window just mysteriously stops working. The grab and drag method with the scroll bar still works, just not the magic mouse finger scrolling.

A restart of the browser seems to fix it temporarily, but eventually it happens again.

I contacted Apple support here in Sweden and got a tip that works for me.

I have set right top corner as a active corner that shuts the screen off. Whenever my scroll stops working, I drag the pointer to that corner so the screen shuts off. I wait for 3-5 seconds and then move the pointer to wake the screen again, and then my scrolling starts working.

It actually works for me. 🙂

I am having the same trouble starting today (12/19/13). I upgraded to Maveriks over a month ago. I did notice an update a few days ago though. Been so busy didn't pay attention to what it was updating this time ... *stupid* *stupid* *stupid*

Anyway, restarting the app that doesn't scroll anymore works to get scrolling back as does putting the system to sleep.

This implies that the Bluetooth daemon is having issues. And this has been an on-going problem. Sometimes it won't respond to the mouse or keyboard at all. The only solution then is to pull out the usb mouse/keyboard and restart Bluetooth.
