Every now and then I get a pop up in safari on my ipad, just a small box saying:

Top Apple games

Free download now, the last day!

The only option I have from here is to click ok, which then redirects me to the App Store to a Bingo Bash app. I Anzac obviously just close this and go back to safari, but the website I was on then disappears and say 'Loading, please wait' but nothing loads. Refreshing doesn't help, neither does the back button.

This has always happened on the same website as far as I can remember - just a site I use for recipes called I have used this website so many times without any problems, but it is very frustrating when this happens.

I have turned on the 'block pop ups' (which was actually already on when this was happening), cleared history and cookies, then restarted but still get the pop up. Any ideas???

Or any browser for that matter, this a horrible security issue, having a pop up redirect with only "ok" as the only valid response with no way around it is a spammers/phishers dream

    Use the Settings App

Settings > Safari > Block Popups > turn on

I have already checked this - the Block Popups was already turned on when the problem started. I have tried turning it off then on again and restarting but still getting these pop ups! Any other ideas?

I have this issue too. It's unavoidable clicking it. Exiting and re entering only prompts it to pop up again. Can't switch tabs etc. An example of this that always seems to happen is on Always seem to get the pop up sooner or later.

And yes, pop-up blocking is turned off in the settings.

I have this problem on an iPad 4 (7.0.4) with Safari, tried 'Block Pop-ups' (was already on), 'Clear History', 'Clear Cookies and Data', restart iPad; all to no avail.

There is something about the sites you are visiting, I'm consisitantly getting it for, but not others.

Doesn't happen when I navigate to the same site with Safari on an iPhone 5S (7.0.4), or from  Safari on an iMac (not surprisingly as it is a link to the App store). I haven't tried using another browser on the iPad.

It is very annoying and has effectively barred me from visting this site due to the reasons given above.

Same here, on a private forum... All the rest is working fine, and I can access the said forum from my computer... The same web site is also accessible without any problems on the Google Chrome app, so it seems to be a Safari problem !

Got another one on the GTA Wiki site. Had a different name but behaved exactly the same. It's extremely annoying.

I must say it is extremely annoying, it not only happens with safari, I tried in Google and duckduckgo. In all of them the pop up window appears and nothing That I tried to stop it worked. The Ipad were good to browse quick way of using internet, etcetera , but not more. Sorry, but is my frustration doing the talking

This is a real problem. Cannot shut this off and I have no option but to press ok.  Apple fix this.

I'm having the same issue and it seems to have started a few days ago when I did the latest system update. Maddeningly annoying yet no responses with a fix. Come on Apple, get this one fixed

I had this problem for about a week. The pop-up would send me to the AppStore to purchase Bingo Bash. I emailed the developers of Bingo Bash and told them that because my iPad could no longer perform one if its primary functions (using the internet) I would be taking legal actions and charging them for any costs involved in obtaining a new iPad that had not been corrupted with unavoidable pop-up ads. They replied to me straight away and asked me to send them a screenshot of the pop-up ad. After I sent them the screenshot I have not had anymore pop-up ads and this is my third day without seeing any pop-ups.

I've just checked the site I had problems with and so far all good. The problem may have gone away...

Edit: twitchfilm now seems to be behaving, but still has the pop-up.

I visited One Green Planet today and it totally is happening now in the Twitter app (where I originally tapped their website) and also in Pinterest too. I have always had popups blocked and the above suggestions didn't help.

This has been happening to me a lot lately too, came here in search of help but none of the suggestions have worked since I already had pop-ups blocked in my settings. The most frustrating thing for me though is that it keeps happening on the main websites I use, even when I use Google. Hope that there's a fix for this soon.
