New Macbook air - battery and mail issues under Mavericks.
Hi,
Had my macbook air for only a few days (just over a week) I used to get battery life of well over 12 hours, but after upgrading to Mavericks I started getting a battery life of between 6 to 8 hours (under 10 at a real push)
I found that mail app had been downloading ALL my old archived mail and had built up about 50GB of mail in it's storage folders for my two accounts.
I stopped using mail app, because it didn't let me select which folders to download, and it didn't support push with gmail.
Since stopping to use mail app, I seem to be getting much closer to 12 hours battery again. Still not a full 12, but a significant improvement from the 6 - 8 I was getting before.
I don't do any significantly intensive taskson it, it's basically just some safari tabs and some imessages.
Activity monitor usually doesn't show any significant;y high usage from any apps. But I do leave it closed most of the time, I try to run as few apps as possible.
Here's my EtreCheck:
Kind Regards
Steven
