i cant figure out what happened, i was using my phone set it down screen went black and wouldnt turn on. my phone is still on because someone called it and it rang it just has no display. any idea what to do?

Reset the phone (no data loss): press both the home and power buttons for up to 1 minute, releasing when the Apple logo appears.
This just happened to me when I plugged my phone in for the CarPlay feature. I did a hard reset and it fixed it. FYI... To reset the iPhone 7 press & hold the volume down and power button.

On the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, you perform a hard reset by pressing and holding the volume down button and the power button at the same time until the you see the Apple logo appear on the screen.
