my wifi won't turn on on my iphone 4s, how do I fix it?

tried everything too. some worked for a while and then problem back. What use is the phone without wifi. so frustrating

i have the same problem, all of my apple products are all not working anymore, my iPod touch screen does not work and my iPhone power button stopped working and now my WiFi wont even turn on, i have tried the blow drying method twice, the reboot 5 times , the freezer twice, airplane mode reboot once and other methods, my WiFi just wont work, and my phone is second hand, so i don't have a warranty, and i cannot afford another phone, i hope you are not in the same situation as me- good luck

My ipad 2 has this same problem with the gray wi-fi button.... Is this the new red ring of death?? Any suggestions for a old ipad??

how do you go back down from 8.1 or whatever software back down to 7.1 for example? didn't think you could :

This happened to me as well what i did was go on settings, general, reset then reset network settings. This worked , after you just have to go on to wifi switch the button and type in your network details. This worked for me and it does not reset anything else. Hope it works for you and anyone else.

I was very unsure about putting it in the freezer, however after doing the other things on here first and with no joy, i did it. Works!!!!!! THANK YOU VERY MUCH

Thanks caltatuc.. this worked for me too.. updating software didn't work, and the freezer only worked for awhile and the same problem came back. so follow these steps and it will solve it. Not surprised they don't advertise this fix on this Apple site!

I had this problem too. No Wi Fi slider to slide so I have just been resetting the phones networks over and over again and finally the Wi Fi slider is there and I can turn it on. Took about 4 attempts to reset the networks but worked in the end. Worth a try.

Take the case off then put it in a ziploc or any other type of baggy then put it in the freezer for about ten minutes then restart your phone it usually works

hey guys I know the answer! So what you have to do is get a hair dryer or something that produces heat. Then heat it up until it says emergency iPhone needs to cool down before use. Turn it compleatly off and pop it into the fridge for ten minutes. Then take it out and power it back on violá! Fixed iPhone 4s wifi!

thank you!! this really helped.. it happened on my brand new iphone 6. i updated the iOS yesterday when i got it, to 10.1.1 and this morning the wifi stopped working.. :< so i read what some of the suggestions were and i really didn't want to have to get a new phone or damage it.. so thank you!! it's simple and easy and it works!

If u hav any issues regarding yr wifi not going back on the best way to bypass it is to overheat yr phone use a hair dryer place close to the earphone and camera once it says temperature to high needs to cool down switch of won't take long to cool switch back on 100% works from dazza
