my wifi won't turn on on my iphone 4s, how do I fix it?

When I go to settings to turn on my WiFi, it says WiFi off and the sliding part remains gray and will not slide. I know the WiFi in my home works, because I am the only one who can not use it. I did not drop my phone or damage it, I'm not sure why it is not working. I've already gone to settings>general>reset and reset all settings and reset network settings several times, and I've also reset my whole iPhone to new from iTunes and that didn't work either. How do I fix this? It has been this way for about two weeks.

iPhone 4S, iOS 7.0.3

I have seen this issue for awhile now. I have a fix for it may seem unconventional but it works and will fix it for good.

First step is to have a heat gun or blow dryer and heat the phone up till you see the Temp warning screen. Once you see that it shuts down all antennas in the device. Turn it off and let it cool all the way down. ( room temp) turn back on and enjoy using your wifi again. Hope it helps everyone

I tried the "heating" fix, with a hairdryer. Didn't get to the stage of the Temp warning screen, but the phone got quite hot. Turned it off, and turned it on again when it had cooled - WiFi now works !! Had previously tried everything else (re-boots, updated to iOS 8.1.2, reset Network settings, Airplane mode before turning off etc). Nothing looked like it was even coming close to working.... I wanted to exhaust all avenues before wiping the phone, and hoping that that worked. Sometimes the unconventional fixes are all that you need. Thanks XxJQKERxX !!

All of a sudden, this happened to me tonight. I've been having some weird problems in iTunes, but nothing like this - WiFi and Bluetooth both failed tonight for no obvious reason.

I tried resetting network and phone settings, tried to update iOS but didn't have enough memory on my Mac to backup...was REALLY getting frustrated, til I found this thread. I tried the freezer trip (turn on Airplane mode, take iPhone 4S out of case, wrap in paper towel, put in freezer for 15 minutes, turn phone back on) - and it worked.

I have no idea of why this worked, but I'm grateful that it did.

I'll tell you what worked for me. I've posted something above but the day after, it stopped working. If you only do the freezer part, it will stop working a few days after also (well this is what happen for me). I've done the hairdryer part and the freezer 10 days ago, and it is still working. I hope it will continue to work...

Here is the link that describe the steps I followed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=brliKIdTECg

Good luck!
