I just got an iPhone 5S and I have an existing iTunes account from my iPod. I went into mange devices on iTunes but I only see the option of deleting a device, not adding. So how do I add one then?

These links are not helping, I can go into my iTunes app, select more, select not on this iphone, find my song, select the cloud so I can redownload my purchase... and still the "this device is already associated with an apple id" pops up. On my MacBook iTunes I can't see my phone in the devices and can't add it.
I don't understand why there can't be a step by step process outlined. I find solutions to almost every problem on this site with step by step but in this case it isn't as simple as that. Why?
Perhaps that's because the subject of this thread has nothing to do with your problem, which is totally unrelated to adding a new DEVICE to an existing account.
Woah Lawrence jeeze sorry! I was so frustrated yesterday I googled and scoured anything I could find. Anyways I phoned Apple and got the most amazing service. They helped me immensely.

I have the same problem. This answer is how to authorise the computer I'm using; how do I add, for example, my new iPhone?
On iTunes, click itunes Store. Right had side click "support" should open up a internet window and just click authorize your computer and it will tel you how.
to speed things up just click"control b" on your iTunes they should open up a bar, click on store be activate your device. Good luck

Follow Lawrence's advice which has worked for me. If you attempt to log in via App Store or Settings it might not work.
This page will show you exactly how to do it. I was having the same issues as others but I was going to ITunes Store and not "Store" all the way at the top of the computer screen. Hope it helps!
