Netflix quality HORRID after update

I made the mistake of updating to latest firmware, 6.0.2. Ever since, Netflix quality *****. SuperHD used to be so sharp and crisp. Now it's pixelated and NOT hd in the least bit!

How can I undo the software change? Has anyone else had this issue?

I recently spoke with Apple customer support regarding my issues with Netflix on AppleTV- the same most are reporting here having heavily pixilated streaming. While some blame was placed on different devices using different servers the Apple Support also mentioned they would (supposedly) contact Netflix and get back to me.

This 'Senior AppleCare Technician' I spoke with told me this was the first he has heard of this issue!?! So I engourage anyone having trouble with Netflix owning a newer purchase of AppleTV or at least still have warranty coverage, to contact Apple and explain your issues in detail. https://getsupport.apple.com/ContactInfo.action

That is interesting. I too have Comcast/Xfinity and constantly get average 35 MPBS download speed test results.

What you are reporting makes sense after the customer support people at Apple told me different devices/netflix apps use different servers. So this might be why ATV ***** streaming Netflix but the iPad, i____, works perfect- even if they are using the same Internet connection/ ISP.

Once again, many of us are having different experiences. I have problems with Netflix on my ATV's and on my brand new iPad Air. Same corresponding poor pictures at same time of day. All this with great internet connection (Comcast) at 70 Mbps down.

Yes - as posted before we know that the Apple TV must be getting different streams - it is the only device that uses Dolby D for Netflix surround sound. All other players supporting Netflix surround sound use Dolby D+

Howeve this doesn't explain why the Apple TV worked reliably up to 11 November and never since,,,,,

I am watching a perfect movie on Netflix right now. I have AT&T U-verse and ATV 3.

I am seeing 1080p at 5800 kbps myself right now. AT&T U-verse ATV 3. Could be a temporary thing, or maybe something was fixed in the background. I was told (by a Netflix rep - I know, they'll say anything to get you off their backs...) that the fix could be made by Netflix on their end - in the way they send SuperHD content to the Apple TV. One can only hope, wait and see....

I have a Sony 3d Blu Ray player I bought with wifi a year ago. I recently bought an Apple TV 3rd Gen Because the Sony interface was a bit clunky and slow, I wanted to be able to mirror from my iOS devices, Amazon had a good sale, and APPLE IS ALWAYS THE BEST (right?) So I thought I'd be upgrading.... I am able to notice a difference between my Sony and the Apple when streaming the same video. The Apple might classify as "HD", but I can tell it's not as clear. It must not be "Super HD" It's not just netflix either. I just watched the same video on VIMEO and again, the Apple quality wasn't as good. The Apple's menu quality looks very crisp, much better than the SONY, but that's not as important is it? I'm really quite surprised that this is happening. I've always had such great experiences with Apple products. I'm going to go write a bad review on Amazon.

I'm getting solid 5800 on my ATV2 via Comcast. I haven't seen 5800 since the problems began so I'll keep my fingers crossed. I didn't change any settings on my ATV2.

PS - my family thinks I'm nuts every time they walk in and see me watching that guy jumping around and doing the moonwalk with his laptop...and I'm starting to agree with them!

Eh...tried mine again...getting 235 kbps...that wouldn't look good on a smart watch
