My Macbook Air is showing 75 GB of movies but I don't have any movies

Yeah for some reason I didn't consider the GoPro files and other tidbits as "movies", but your comment made me think to look in photos and vuala, there were 122 gigs of (unedited) video files. Transferring to 2TB HD now. Thanks for the useful nudge in the right direction.

I have your answer go to iTunes, Prefernces, Devices and remove all old back-ups. It worked for me.

I had this same problem too and found the best solution is to move the iPhoto Library to an external hard drive all together.

To piggy-back off my previous post. It also appears that Photos has a separate Library from iPhoto. So I am also moving that Library to my external drive as well. I understand further development of iPhoto and Aperture is no longer happening, so I guess I'll get with the times and stop using iPhoto.
