Hyperlinks to websites not working in Notes
Why is it that a website hyperlink is highlighted in Notes, but when I click on it, nothing happens?
OS X Mavericks (10.9)

I have exactly the same problem.
The links worked fine at the beginning but stopped opening one by one after a while.
What I don't like is people here condenscendingly commenting "are you sure it is a link" and that after three years Apple is not giving an answer to this problem. With so many users the problem is occuring with many. Apple is making billions and should be able to assign someone competent to provide support.

Is this a Mountain Lion or Mavericks question? Because it works fine in Mavericks.
I'm using Mavericks.
Do the links need to include http:// ?
They don't work using iPad withe the latest IOS
All my links include http:/ and they work fine. I think the http:/ is required.
OK, I've mixed things up a bit.
I'm using a MBP with Mavericks OS installed.
I have links in Notes that have either http://www.somesite.com (http:/ prefix) or just the website name www.somesite.com
Both of these appear to be hyperlinks in Notes, but clicking on them does nothing.
If I select the link and then choose Notes > Services > Open URL, then my browser fires up and the link is displayed. Lot of extra steps, don't you think?
In 10.9.
After doing some experimenting, the only way I can get Notes/Services to give me an option to 'Open URL' is if I type out the web address and select it, but not have it as a hyperlink. The hyperlinks I have in Notes all are click to load.
Not trying to be offensive, but are you sure they are hyperlinks?
Not sure what else you would call them. The Notes application has changed the "format" of the text (can't upload an image to show you) and when I mouse over the text, the pointer changes. That to me appears like "hyperlink" behavior.
I agree it appears to be hyperlink behavior if you get the hand with one finger out. What I don't understand is why you can't click on it and have it load and why in Services you get the Open URL option, which I don't. All my hyperlinks were created in Word 2008 using the command to make hyperlinks. Just typing the web address in Notes doesn't create a hyperlink for me.
If I control - click on one of my links the options refer to it as a link.
I'm not sure how some of the links in one of my notes were created.
My thinkng is that there are many applications that can make the determination that something that starts with http:// or https:// can be made to behave as a hyperlink
I do know that I did not purposely create a hyperlink and then paste it into my note.
Also, the only time that I receive the Open URL option in the services is when I select text. E.G if i have text in my Note like jguitar.com and I select the text and then choose Notes > Services, the Open URL option appears and the link will open. If I select the word jguitar all by itself/alone, the option doesn't appear, so the application can tell if it is a possible choice for opening a URL.
Something isn't quite adding up......
