Can anyone access the 3 Disney Channels on Apple TV?

All were working fine not 2 days ago, now none work on any of my 3 Apple TV's. Just get an "Accessing Disney (Junior, XD, Channel)" and a pinwheel of death that goes no where. I updated the software on a couple days ago when prompted. Perhaps that is messing things up? I even reset one of my devices to facotry settings (ugh!) and still doesn't work. Every other channel works, except for the Disney's. I double checked to see if they dropped my provider and they haven't. I can access them on my macbook air, just not Apple TV.

I have 3 year old twins who need their Jake and the Neverland Pirates!

Thanks, Thomas. I will try that and see.

I set the iPhone to a hotspot. Worked like a charm. Back to my internet? Nothing. Going to call Charter. I have my internet through them, and oddly, they are one of the supported providers. I don't have TV through them, so that could be it (I have it with another supported provider).

Only thing I can think of. I'll contact them and ask.

Sorry about the airplay suggestion without first testing it myself. If you can sign in with the IOS app but not with the Apple TV does that mean the cable provider may not be the problem?

I can connect with the Apple TV but the next time I use it I have to log out and back in with ABC for it to work. I'll try the suggestion to clear viewing history.

By the way using airplay with an iPad at least gets a horizontal picture on the TV although not full width.

from everything i can tell, the issue is a programming level issue for the disney/watch abc apps and comcast/verizon service. if there is someone out there that knows about maybe port changing or something that could troubleshoot and find a solution. i have tried everything i could think of as far as router/modem resets, appletv restores, etc. in memphis, this seems to be a city wide issue for those of us with comcast which is quite a few. so it's a pickle because apple is hosting apps that aren't compatible with certain isps and the isp & app guys aren't working together to fix the issue.

Exact same issues on two Third Gen Apple TVs here in Oxford, MS with UVerse TV and Internet. Strange thing is - the Watch Disney Junior app worked for some time, the Watch ABC app never worked and now neither of them work. Just get stuck on the "Accessing Disney Junior" with spinning thing screen. I have tried rebooting my modem/router and completing unplugging the apple tv for a few minutes - neither of which worked. iPad apps work fine on the same network. I haven't even tried calling customer support because I know I will get madder when they start blaming someone else. I guess I'll try unplugging for several hours (even though I can't see the difference in that vs unplugging for a few minutes). Please help if you know how to fix!

I tried unplugging mine for 24 hours and that didn't work.

As far as blocked 3rd party services because it's on U-verse on demand - that doesn't seem to be consistent with the press release about the apps.

"The Smithsonian Channel offers on-demand access to streams of full episodes from the television channel, while the Disney Channel and Disney XD apps offer live and on-demand access with authentication through select television providers. Currently supported providers for the Disney apps include AT&T U-verse, Charter, Comcast, Cox, Midcontinent Communications, Optimum, and Verizon FiOS."

This is so frustrating. How do we escalate this and get some answers?

Thanks!

Michael

In case this helps anyone---I was having this problem too. It turned out this was due to my use of a transparent squid proxy. I presume that's not the problem for most (all?) posting here, but maybe some are experiencing an incompatibility with certain firewall/router hardware or configurations?

It looked to me as if the apps stream over http but do a separate connection via https (which also looks like it does the geolocation check). My suspicion, for my case, is that the problem came from running the http connection through the transparent proxy, while of course the https connection was direct.

Anyway, I disabled the transparent proxy and the problem immediately went away.
