Importing a Copy Protected CD into my iPod

I have a copy protected CD that I cannot import into iTunes and thus my iPod. Yet the same CD is available on the iTunes Music Store to purchase for iTunes. How can I get this CD into my iPod? Do I need to use another media program? Please help!

You should take the CD back to the store and tell them you don't wnat copy protected CDs.
Then write (not email) a letter to the band AND the label, letting them know you are dissatisfied with their decision to use copy protection on audio CDs.
Really, you should.

It's not necessarily an iTunes issue but the copy protection scheme.
Sometimes you can import into WMP and burn an unprotected copy, then reimport into iTunes.
Dave Matthews Band had a protected CD (the label did it, not them) and they provided this work around on their website.

The CD was Nothing is Sound by Switchfoot. I burned a copy onto a CD from WMP and used that CD to load it on to iTunes and thus me iPod. It worked! Thanks so much.

When it was originally released, that particular CD (Switchfoot's "Nothing Is Sound") had problems with the copy protection scheme which made the CD impossible to import. The record company quickly issued a "recall," so buyers could return the faulty CDs to the retailer, who would exchange it for a functional version. So if your workaround isn't satisfactory (and assuming the exchange program is still being honored) you should be able to return the CD for a working copy.

Seriously though, you need to take that CD back and get a replacement.
It is infected with the Sony rootkit, which places monitoring software on yoru computer.

The disc was recalled by Sony.

They were sued in numerous states and a few countries for it.

USCERT and Dept of Homeland Security issued advisories against this.
