how can I split table cell in pages 5.0??

Any one knows? now I think pages suck eggs.

MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012), OS X Mavericks (10.9)

The old version did it for you, but you can manually do it by.

1. Add a new row (or column) next to the one containing the cell you want to split.

2. Merge all the cells in the rows or columns, except for the one you want to split.

It's a pain to no longer have this feature.


Pages 09 had the split row/split column option, and with one cell selected, it would only 'split' that cell. But I believe it actually added a whole new row or column and the non-selected cells were automatically merged.

To obtain split cells you have to go about it in a round about way....


Do this by creating the columns then merging the headers into one


You first need create the colunms to merge...


Then select the coloums to be mearged by pressing shift and clicking mouse/track pad.


Once selected now your ready to merge them they will have a thin box around them with circle bullets in coners of the colums selected.


In your menu bar go to "FORMAT" select "TABLE" then select "MERGE" You should now see a header will split columns.
