Error 1394 after trying to update to 7.0.4

I went through the process to update to this version via WI FI. came back after a few minutes and phone now shows iTunes icon, arrow up and plug in. I went to laptop and started iTunes, plugged in phone and itunes gives me

iTunes has detected an iphone in recovery mode.You must restore in able to use iTunes

I try to restore via itunes and get the 1394 error.

Phone will not do anything.
