When I open up music in my iphone it won't play out loud, but when I plug my head phones in it will.
I tried plugging and unplugging the headphones a few times but it made no difference.
What makes no sense to me is that my phone will ring out loud, my alarm clocks which are all songs work out loud and my message tone occasionally works out loud.
Can anyone think of why it is doing this or have a solution?

Volume adjustments are independent. The ringer volume is one thing, the headset volume is something else, and speaker volume when the music is playing is something different as well. You can only adjust the volume for music while music is actually playing. Check that, or go into Settings>Music>Volume Limit and see if that is on or off. That controls how loud the volume can actually be set if it is on.
It won't play through my speakers at all.
When it first stopped working I went through all my sound settings and have done the most obvious things like making sure it isn't on silent, that there is no volume limit etc but nothing.
Check your "AIRPLAY" options. Swipe the screen from bottom to top, and in the screen that opens up, chack that airtime is not set to 'Dock Connector'. If it is, tick it off or choose another option (e.g. Bluetooth devise, apple tv, etc..) and it should go back to normal.
I am having this same problem. It worked before I patched to 7.0.4. I check the volume limit, it is off (so max allowed).
Reading over this again, I'm wondering, are you saying it just doesn't seem very loud, or when you say it won't play "out loud", you cannot hear it at all. Big difference.

My stopped working about two weeks ago and it is doing my head in.
It has happened before but it has only lasted for about 10 minutes.
