Why can't I login to PBS channel on Apple TV

We had to go through about 4 pages of account setup before ours finally activated. Kind of a pain. If you have a google email account use that.

Same problem here. I set up the PBS account yesterday. Although, it was easy (a single page) not 4 pages. Whats up with that? I wouldn't have even gotten that far if someone on another forum hadn't provided me a link to the account setup page. (Where is that on the main PBS page?). I got a verification email to which I clicked on the link to verify my email address. If I go to the account page, it says I'm signed in.

I would use my gmail account if I knew where to sign in with it.

What a mess!

Linzmdavidson, can I ask what link you used to establish your account? I just set up an account again, using my gmail address, and I get a single page requiring: first/last name, email address, password, zip code. That's it. This makes me think I am at the wrong place vs where you went.

I tried to activate with my iPad after trying it with my iMac got me to a screen where I'm supposed to sign in with facebook, google, etc, but nothing worked. Using the iPad app, I was able to set up an account etc etc, BUT when I clicked on the very last thing, it said "The provided auth code is not associated with any device ID." The auth code I gave it was the code given to me by Apple TV. I checked it multiple times, and I have input the correct code. Anyone else have this problem and know how to get past it? This is soooo frustrating! Thanks!

Make sure you leave Apple TV on with the PBS code showing on the screen.

I was having problems until I did this, and then I was able to log on without difficulty.

I can log on to PBS, but only the SD feed. The HD feed does not show on the channel list when I enter my zip code. Does anyone know a way around this or is this a deliberate move on the part of PBS?

Same problem, never get to a place to "create an account" on PBS (I don't use facebook or google). I leave the activation code on tv screen, but nothing.

Who do I call, email, ask?

I found one solution, I think:

When I tried activating the PBS channel using my PC, I had the same issue as everyone else here: I typed in the activation code and couldn't proceed. Instead, I tried to activate the PBS page through my iPhone (using my phone I went to pbs.org/activate, and typed in the activation code that showed up on my Apple TV 2) it worked. You will need to either sign in using Facebook, Google (Gmail) or a PBS account. I would suspect if it worked with my iPhone, it'll possibly also work on iPods, iPads, and maybe just through a Safari browser in general? I'm not sure about any of those, but it's worth a try.

Scratch the Safari browser option. That's what I have been using.

I can't even find the PBS activation screen using my Safari search engine ( which is Google as the default) I created a PBS account..still no activation option there...ANY suggestions??? i have been jonesing for PBS ever since I have had this appleTV!!!!

@hollyholly67 -- I think the activation screen should be at http://video.pbs.org/activate/. But, as @micj said before you, the Safari browser alone doesn't seem to help the issue. 😟 Do you have any Apple device (besides your Apple TV) that you can use to go to that PBS webpage -- an iPhone, iPod, iPad? I have no idea why it would works on an iPhone versus a PC, but it really did work for me, and it was just a few hours ago (today, Tuesday Dec 3, 2013). I got nowhere using the activation link & code through my PC, but on the iPhone it worked with no problems.
