Why does it say max RAM is 16gb when i read people with same computer putting 32gb?
I have seen this computer register up to 32gb of ram (8gb in each slot of 4) so why does Apple say 16gb max ram?
Apple only tests memory in configurations that were available at the time they designed a particular model. 32 GB will work fine in your Mid - 2011 iMac. Just be sure to purchase it from a vendor known to support Macs. At present there are only two that I have personally used and can recommend, Crucial and OWC / MacSales.
