icloud is using my old email address which no longer exists and I can't change nor delete the account to set up a new one.

OK, something is not jiving here. You indicated that you wanted to get signed out of iCloud. But now you are indicating:

So, are (were) you signed in to iCloud or not signed in to iCloud?


Does this device show up in the Find My iPhone app in iCloud.com on your computer?
