Safari is hanging since Mavericks

Ever since I have installed Mavericks, I have not been able to use Safari. I have had to use Chrome and I HATE Chrome. I have read about "Extensions" being the problem, but I have gone to the Preferances and there are none there. I even turned them off and and the problem remains. I have removed all antivirus software and reset Safari. After all these steps I restarted my Macbook Pro. While running Safari (and while its hanging) I checked the "Activity Monitor" and took the following screen shot. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. I love Safari and really want it back.

Linc's advice saved me - even though the thread is several months old.

I was getting sluggish Safari speed, and sometimes, Safari would hang mid-query. My lame solution was to restart Safari, and hope the query would work fine. Sometimes, it didn't.

I started with the easiest part of Linc's advice - to restart Safari in Recovery Mode and performed a Permissions run. Then I restarted my iMac - and Safari was significantly faster. No errors browsing.
