Upgrade Hard Disk Ibook G3

Hello All,
I have And Ibook G3 with just 20 gb hard disk , I want to upgrade the hard disk to at least 60 or 80 gb. Does the ibook g3 600 mhz used a 2,5 inch standart laptop hard disk, or should I look for some special hard disk?
And how I can replace the hard disk? Is there any tutorial explain how to replace. Is that easy? Thanks

I believe that most, if not all, 2.5 disks will work in your iBook. I replaced my 10 Gig drive with a MK6026 GAX (5400 rpm) Toshiba drive last October.

Is it easy? Welllllll . . . no, but it's not impossible, either. I am not a techie, but I did it. It takes about 2.5 hours. Be very patient, print out the instructions, and mind the screws (I used double-faced tape and taped each screw next to its picture).

Here are the instructions:

I second everything that Susan says. I just replaced my original 10 GB HD from my 500MHz iBook (Dual USB) this Sunday and I used the ifixit guide.

A few points she didn't that I think are important:

Make sure you have a good #0 Phillips head screwdriver and Torx #8 (I bought the set from Other World Computing whence I got the drive). Also get a "spudger," I used a small flat head screwdriver and slightly damaged the rim.

That spudger operation is the most excruciating of the whole process. Be firm, but gentle.

Good luck.
