How to sync mail accounts between ios7 and Mavericks?

Dear All,

I set up a few mail accounts on my Mavericks, but do not want to do the same process again on my iPhone5.

Is there any solution to make the iphone to pick up the mail accounts defined on Mavericks? The "accounts" list in system settings should be put in sync only...

Thanks in advance!

MacBook Air, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

Use iCloud to sync mail between your Mac and iPhone.

I'm using exchcange. Issue is i manage a bunch of email accounts, some exchange, others imap, and updated passwords no longer sync.

I did read what you posted and understand and use exchange as well as several imaps too.....

I'm trying to give everything you say benefit of doubt, and not ignoring any technical advice but maybe we just keep talking about something else.

OK. thanks.

Passwords sync via Keychain (in iCloud accounts) Exchange password sync depends entirely on the policies set by the Exchange administration. For other providers I suggest that you ask them.

Account replication is also available on Exchange, but not on any other system that I know of.

I realize the last thing I used that worked good for this was palm pilot with outlook synching software.

Since then I'd just manage everything from a mac and it had nothing to do with any exchange or provider settings.

I just checkbox which accounts and passwords I wanted to update from Mac to devices.

I looked around and don't think anything else does this now well either, just making sure if you knew of.

Thanks for the Exchange info.

Hi Guys

New to this thread, and I admit to only having to scanned the first page or two of threads, and as soon as it degenerated in to a slanging match I have jumped to the end.

But from what i see, can someone confirm that it is now impossible to Sync mail account settings from iTunes to a new iPhone 5s from Mavericks.

So now you have to manually set up each account....grrrr what a pain.

I have 8 accounts, some POP, some iMAP, on own domain names, a work Exchange, two Gmail and Yahoo so setting up each one manually, Is going to be a bloody pain.

I have all my settings stored in a ' Notes' file..and with the 4S you could double tap the Home button and jump between open apps...but now the 5 s and 7.1.2 you seem to have lost the option to jump between apps while a dialogue box is open.

It is almost as if Apple is trying to make life harder for us, removing features that were useful and adding (to me) crap like Siri

There was definitely the option to sync Mail accounts with an iOS device in Mountain Lion. You guys are saying Apple removed a really basic feature like that? I've got a lot of accounts and don't want to deal with that. It's outrageous that they expect us to do that manually when absolutely everything else is synced automatically; feels like I'm using some cheap Android phone. Seriously, Mavericks is nothing but a downgrade... except I need it for Xcode, so I have it.

Some potentially useful info:

I did restore a backup from an older iPhone that had its accounts synced onto it from a Mountain Lion Mac. It restored the account settings but not the passwords. So I have to dig the passwords out and enter them, but at least I don't have to set up the servers again. Or I might just boot my Mac into Mountain Lion and sync it from there, haha.

Back up your old device, if you had one, and restore the backup onto the new 5S. That will at least put most of the Mail settings in; you'll only need to re-enter the passwords. Yeah, still *****. If you don't want the rest of the stuff from your old device, you can just change all your sync settings in iTunes and will still have the Mail accounts.
