Mistakenly hit forget this device for my Bluetooth hands free now cannot find device

I have read every word of this thread.

I chose "forget this device" so my UE Roll (AWESOME) portable Bluetooth speaker could pair with someone else's cell phone. Now my iPhone 6s Plus will not recognize or pair with the speaker, when I put the speaker in pairing mode, while the iPhone searches to discover any nearby bluetooth devices.

I tried the suggestion on this thread, holding down the + volume button and the power button for 10 seconds, while in pairing mode, and while not in pairing mode.

I also tried a soft reset. I did the latest update to to OS. I did everything I could think of.

I read in a different thread that when an iPhone refuses to re-discover a Bluetooth device, a hard reset from the Setup menu has to be done to the iPhone, which causes a factory reset (but does not erase any stored data on the iPhone). I also read of people who did such a reset with no results but all the headaches of having to restore personal preferences that get erased.

I appreciate your help so much!

in many forums, apple iphone customers facing issues to reconnect when they accidentally hit forget device. I faced the same issue and contacted apple support. I've was advised to reset network settings but it didn't helped.

Many of the third party bluetooth headsets are not coming in market with 3 buttons - one volume up/down and a power key.

When u hit forget device on yur iphone and the bluetooth headset is not showing up again,

do

1. turn on bluetooth on yur iphone

2. press & hold power on button on yur bluetooth headset

3. press and hold power on and volume down key till you hear 2 beep sounds.

4. Now the device will show up in yur iphone

I too mistakenly told my iPhone 6 to forget my Bluetooth Bose speaker.

I was able to repair my iPhone and my Bose Bluetooth speaker by resetting my Bose speaker I held down the start the plus and minus buttons for then turned on my Bluetooth speaker and iPhone was able to find it

Have just been with service manager, solved the problem by 'forgetting the device'. Apparently the car thought it was connected but the phone didn't , we forgot the device and then suddenly it was available for pairing again. Sooo happy with the Sunshine Coast Honda service manager. And so glad the Honda Bluetooth issues no longer exist for us anyway. Happy to help any others if they need.

I had the exact same issue with my iPod. I kept thinking I needed to do something with my iPod to fix it, but the solution was to put my bluetooth speaker back into pairing mode. Although this was not in the speakers manual, I held down the power button and up volume button at the same time, and a green light started flashing. Suddenly the pairing option showed up on my iPod again.

This discussion helped me fix same problem. Let me put it succinctly. The phone does not forget, it tells your bluetooth device "forget about me and never try again". So the solution is to make your BT device try again. Put it into "pairing mode" and then you will see it on your phone again. You can Google for a phrase like "plantronics bluetooth pairing". That is how I found out how to get my device back into pairing mode. Usually something like "turn it on and hold down the call button until the LEDs flash and then you will see the request on your iPhone".

Disconnect will not unpair it. Forget this device will. It's best to turn off a BlueTooth device to disconnect it rather than leave it on and tap disconnect. Helps preserve the battery charge in the device also.

It's not that it is blocking it forever. Any BT device must be in Pairing mode to connect the first time. This is a security feature so your phone doesn't connect to every BT device that you walk past. If you have the phone Forget the device its as if it had never been paired. So the device must be again put into Pairing mode ("Disoverable" mode) to connect it again.

I also have this problem with my Honda my 13 CRV. I accidentally hit forget this device and it won't connect. I also hit 'delete all personal data" on Crv. My iPhone 5 is always in discoverable mode but won't come up with the crv's Bluetooth to pair with. I have reset all settings powered down, taken it to dealer all to no avail.

I had the same problem with my iPad and used your suggestion. After hours of frustration in trying to pair my wireless keypad, I held the power button until it started flashing holding the button in while I watched it finally appear in the bluetooth box in settings. Famous words... " easy once you know the answer". Thanks for the lead to the power button.

One word for this........................... Awesome; it burst out when this worked

all the suggestions were just a suggestion, this was the real remedy.

Don't forget to turn on the 'personal hotspot' in 'settings'

You need to put the speaker into pairing mode according to the manufacturer's instructions. You should be able to find those instructions on the paperwork that cam with the speaker or on the manufacturer's website
