My iPad with retina display updated to iOS 7.0.4 keeps freezing up and crashing.

I am having troubles with my ( iPad with retina display ) the one before the ( iPad air ). When in the YouTube app and a few others I noticed as well watching a video or doing anything on the iPad, with it opened up or even after it being installed on my iPad, it freezes my iPad locks it up or it just re-starts my iPad. At times I can not use the home button, power button, anything at all and have to wait for the iPad to try and cure itself before re-starting it or before it re-starts itself. After troubleshooting my iPad with Apple to see if it was my iPad or something wrong with iOS 7 update, it seems that it is the YouTube app and any other app that causes these types of problems so I have deleted and re-installed the YouTube app after speaking with Apple and again and still the same problem. For now I have deleted the app and the others until I hear about a fix for the problem. Hope this helps out anyone with the same problem.

I got my new iPad mini2 (16G wifi with 7.0.4 preinstalled) on Jan 14. It constantly crashes and reboots. I've tried reseting the iPad both from iPad itself and from the iTunes application but the problem is still there. Wondering if it's a hardware issue so I may return it back to Apple.

I bought an iPad with retina about a year ago, and then about a month ago had to get an applecare swap due to a cracked screen. The old device never gave me any issues whatsoever. The new one constantly locks up and requires a reboot, which takes 10-15 minutes before it comes back and is useable again. As others have mentioned, it makes the device practically worthless.

What with IOS7 pretty much killing my iPhone 4 (ugly and unresponsive), and now this, I'm starting to consider giving up on Apple's products as a business device.

I am having the same issues, as is my friend. Seems that the ios in beta may cure the issue, anyone know when that comes out? Mine freezes so often and restart can take up to hours. It happened during a 2 hour meeting, finished and was reusable as we were closing. Sometimes the fix loops to another freeze. Does anyone have a solution? I am dying here!

Same here! Got a new iPad 4 with retina display for Christmas. I was prompted to update to iOS 7.0.4 at set up, and now my iPad constantly freezes in safari and some apps. The screen goes grey with wavy horizontal lines and I have to reset to get the apple logo up so that it will reboot. I have tried the 'reset to factory settings' and all of the other 'fixes' support recommends, but it has made no difference, and my iPad still randomly crashes.

This must be due to the ISO update as we have 3 other iPad 4's in the house, all connected to the same wifi, and all work perfectly. The only difference is that they have not been updated to ISO 7.0.4 nor will they be until Apple sorts this out!

As others have said this is an expensive piece of kit and I expected better from Apple ... With so many complaints regarding the problems this particular update is causing, I thought that Apple would have issued a fix by now, but no news so far ...

I would like to return mine, but is it classed as faulty if the problems are down to a software update?

Very disappointed

My iPad had been working fine. Now the Home Button Will not work at all.I can bypass the home button by using the shaded pull down at the top clicking on an app such as CNN,BBC, Crackle, then clicking Mail .when I click mail it goes to a completely blank white screen except for three lines horizontally through the top of page. wait a few seconds and the blank mail page disappears and you are on the Homescreen.from there you can enter any app ,play videos ,FoX News Crackle movies etc. although CNN sometimes locks up.You can play podcasts surf the web on a Google Chrome but Safari seems to lock up.when you mail sometimes it will say , "this device is not configured for mail ,set up an e-mail account." you can share via Twitter but share via facebook and it freezes/locks uo and the page will stay locked that way.you must pull down the shaded drop screen and enter another app on it ,then mail, wait for the blank mail page to disappear to get to the Homescreen ,then any app. Also in Settings click on certain things and the settings page will freeze this May make it very difficult to fix things from settings, such as setting up a mail account. --All problems appear to be the. Home Button will not work at all, Safari locks up, Facebook mail freezes up. So,I'm guessing the problem is in Safari, e-mail not configured, and the Homebutton will not work at all.
