Missing emails in Mavericks mail app

Hi guys

yes it's another complaint to Mavericks mail app. I had an email randomly disapeer in my inbox. this is for my Outlook/hotmail/live mail using the new IMAP settigns that microsoft posted a few months back. Not only has the message disapeared on me in my mail app inbox but it's also synced with my web mail!!! the one time microsofts IMAP actually works for me!!! Are Apple looking into this?? or are they just focusing on Gmail?

help would be great if anyone knows how to recover it. or will i just have to wait for it to right itself

also I've checked all sub folders, junk and trash and all other email accounts on the app...no luck 😟

I also have disappearing messages. In fact, I saw it happen right in front of my eyes yesterday.

I sent an email with my IMAP account, to a group of addressees. On of the the addressees is a forwarder address to everyone at my work. The message also has a BCC to myself.

Mail was focused on the Sent folder. After pressing send the message showed up in the folder for a couple of seconds. But then **poof** - it was gone. It just disappeared from the folder. Like it was deleted, but then without being selected first. I searched everywhere, but it just went into a black hole or something.

The message was sent though, because my collegues received it. I, however, did not get the BCC, and it's not showing in the Sent folder.

Just another complaint about Mavericks mail app. I had an email account and all it's emails, drafts - eveything disappear after I installed Mavericks and I can't find it.
No fix or updates remedy this.
I would like to uninstall Mavericks because of rhat and the fact that my iMax is running so slow now after this update.
I can't stand this thing - it reminds me of the microsoft garbage I used to have to deal with before I changed to Mac.
If I wanted garbage I'd have a PC - so what's up with this update?????

Within the past week, over 14,000 emails have disappeared from my inbox. I have rebuilt the mailbox (on more than one occasion), and software is fully up to date. Additionally, emails are randomly marked as "Junk" and cannot be unmarked as Junk en masse. I have to do it in small batches. Later, hundreds upon hundreds of email are once again marked as Junk. The emails I lost are from different points in time, seemingly random, and from multiple senders. As someone who relies (relied) on old emails for purposes of keeping a convenient record of communications related to legal transactions in which I am involved, this has been a crippling loss. No "fix" that comes up when I Google this problem offers any sort of solution, and I am resigned to the fact that thousands of my emails are gone forever. I am utterly exasperated with Apple and am rethinking, and regretting, my decision to eschew PCs in favor of what I once assumed was a superior and, for the most part, glitch-free operating system. Mac Mail has literally just wiped out hundreds of hours of my attorney work product. Disgusted!

I upgrades to Mavericks over the weekend and noticed when back at work on Monday, that my messages sent from Apple mail are no longer showing up in Sent mail. I have started adding a bcc: to myself but this is not a very good solution. Apple mail seems much slower than last week in pulling new messages from my university's mail exchange. I'm really dismayed by this "improvement."

If you need to force a resync of your Apple Mail and Gmail mailbox have you tried - Menubar > Mailbox > Synchronize > and choosing your gmail account?

Do you see the same problem on your iPhone?

How are you noticing that the mail disappears? Are you searching for it, or do you know it should be there and it is just hidden from the inbox view?

When I was trying to isolate a similar problem I created a smart mailbox with filters to identify what I thought was missing email. It found it and when I went back to my regular inbox it was there also. Not sure if this is a Gmail server side issue or an issue with your Apple Mailbox database.

This wasnt a Gmail issue it was a hotmail issue and I knew the messages dissapeared because I read it before hand and saw it on the notification. It didnt come up when I was searching for it after i noticed it had disapeared. it had also been deleted on the hotmail web mail thing. it's moot now since I've moved to Airmail for all my mailing needs. But I've left this open incase anyone finds a solution or if ppl have similar problems.

There's already a few gmail centred threads and was hping ppl would have some Hotmail/Outlook/Live mail solutions to share
