Feb 8, 2014 11:06 AM in response to Johnathan Burgerby archibald46,I'm curious why it's not possible to attach mp3 music files to an SMS iMessage? Doesn't seem that the enabling software would be that difficult. Possibly a business issue? Are the music companies opposing it ... for fear of losing control of copyrighted music (i.e. Napster)? Is Apple protecting iTunes? Or is it the phone companies who can't or won't enable? Just curious. Is the limitation the same for Android phones? Thanks!

Feb 8, 2014 11:33 AM in response to Meg St._Clairby archibald46,Is it clear that it's Apple that has placed the limitation? Or is it some other stakeholder ... i.e. the music owners? or the telecom carriers ?

Dec 23, 2014 4:15 PM in response to michelleciaoby Beebullbrox,I believe that they keep this in place due to copyright issues and not wanting people to be able to share music in that manner. It is a hassle though! I made a song via Garageband and then exported to iTunes via my iPhone. The problem now is I just wanted to send it via iMessage to a few people for Xmas but I have to due it via my computer. Unfortunately the also have to use iMessage.
