I have exactly the same problem that blondebabe69 posted.

Basically, I followed all the instructions given online:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dx7UJD9JsRo and

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808 and unfortunately, it does not work. I tried it countless times already, but to no avail.

The iTune messages given is not what was described or demonstrated.

It does not say "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode".

Instead it prompted "to allow this computer to sync info from your phone.. ". There is only a "Continue" or "Cancel" option. Pressing Cancel does not work, because it just make iTune appeared like no phone / device detected.

So when you press "Continue" another messge pops up and says "to allow access, please repond on your iPhone". How do you response via the iPhone when it is disabled, and nothing I press on the iPhone meets this 'response' required.

My only next option appear to visit the repair center directly... as there is no solution given that seems to work. 😟

I cant thank you enough... My phone was locked in the apple boot logo. and I even tried third party software to create a backup. I could not let it even do a back up because it said it needed me to okay the connection from my device. Where is in my first point was impossible to do because of it being locked at the apple logo. I have pictures that I had been to lazy to move that I was worried I would lose (pics of my newest baby boy who is almost a year old now). Thanks to you that wasn't the case. The update worked like a charm. Thank you so so much.

I have this problem and it is making me angry

The password didn't work on my iPhone 4, so it disabled.. normal

However I plug it into iTunes, iTunes says 'to allow access please respond on your iPhone...

- normal

However No matter what I press on the iPhone, iTunes won't recognize that I'm responding.. I don't understand how some rude people are saying the original poster isn't VERY CLEAR

I realize this is an old thread, but I'm hoping you can help. I dropped my phone in the lake yesterday. When I pulled it out it was working fine, but I knew it was a matter of time before it started misbehaving. Unfortunately, I was 2 hours away from my new computer that I had not synced my phone with. Now, I can hear that I'm getting emails, texts, etc. but I have no display. I'd love to sync my phone to iTunes and save my photos, but I'm unable to give access because I have no display to do so on my phone. Is there any way around this? Other than taking to Apple--which I will do today if needed.

Thank you in advance!

Sheila

I am having exactly the same problem with my iPad. I haven't forgotten my keycode, my bluetooth keyboard was on in my bag and must have appeared to be entering incorrect codes. Have plugged into my iMac, which I have synced the ipad on previously, but I too am being directed to respond on my device - which is simply telling me that it is disabled and providing me with no opportunity to interact with it. I do not want to lose any data. I am a bit cross about how much time this wastes. In addition to the time wasted wading through instructions that do not work, I will probably have to take my iPad to a service agency to have them address this trivial technical glitch - at a huge cost in both time and money. Not user-friendly at all.

Anybody managed to solve this?

I'm locked out of my iPhone 5s and getting the whole "To allow acesss please respond on your iPhone" thing. I do have my passcode, I just didn't remember it yesterday when I managed to lock myself out.

Went into recovery mode and restored my phone as outlined in If you forgot the passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled - Apple Support. - but despite all that I'm still locked out like before.

The ONLY way to resolve this is to Restore the phone from Recovery mode using iTunes, as Clyde has already posted. If you follow those instructions you will not need to enter the passcode on your phone. Assuming you back up regularly to your computer or iCloud you can restore the most recent backup.

And, BTW, it is very user-friendly protecting your data. If there was any way around the passcode lock the security of the phone would be worthless, as hackers would figure it out pretty quickly. The fact that no one has in 7 years shows how well your content is protected.

Apple tested the release on tens of thousands of phones for 3 months before releasing it. The process is called "beta testing" - it is released to all developers, and additional regular users chosen at random. If there was a systemic problem it would have been found during the beta test. So this was most likely a glitch on your phone or your computer. Or you just didn't have the patience to wait for it to finish.

That was the problem. You had to pretend the message wasn't there until the phone had rebooted, and popped the question about trusting the computer. The message on the computer gave no indication that the question it said to answer wouldn't appear unless the phone had fully booted. The way to present that should be for the desktop to wait until the phone is ready to pop the question before telling the user to answer it.
