Italics and Bold display incorrectly in iBooks

I've seen some other issues with italics not displaying in iBooks files, but my problem seems to be a little different. Anyplace where I have used either bold or italics, they display incorrectly. For example, if I have a paragraph with only one word that is either bolded or italicized, either the bold or italics doesn't dsiplay, or the whole paragraph is bolded or italicized. The paragraph seems to use the format of the first word or character in the paragraph to set it for the whole thing. If the first word is regular, then no bold or italics is displayed; if the first word is bold or italics, then so is the entire rest of the paragraph. This is a new issue. I have been working on this book for 3 months, and it has not happened before, but now the book does not display properly, and nothing I've tried has fixed it. I am using the most recent updates for both iBooks Author and iBooks, but this was happening before the most recent update as well. I am using the Cambria font. Anyone know how to fix this?

I suggest you put your project to one side and open a new copy of the template you have used and add some content - dont copy anything from your project book yet.

Now test if the problem persists. If the answer is NO , everything works fine and my problem" is not replicated - then it would seem the answer would seem to indicate no problems with iBA as such.

Did you customise the original template/change the styles etc,?

Its a long process of elimination.

You can also try copying a full chapter of your project and paste into the "Test" version and check for faults.
