How to copy files to a CD

How do you copy files to a CD ... is this the same as "burning" them to a CD?

Once I have copied/burned some files to a CD is thag it? Or can I then clpy/burn other additional files. dont seem to be able to add files even though I know it can not be filled up.

Theres something Im doing wrong or do not understand about "burning."
