i forgot my ipad password

I know my ipad is connected with my itunes account and this computer but i can not unlock it. or sync it. I also know the password has love in it but i can not remember the numbers after

Which password is it you forgot? Your Apple ID or your iPad unlock PIN?

I restored the ipad and now can't activate it because my password or user name on Ipad doesn't work. Apple Id and pw is fine
