is keynote compatible with powerpoint

Keynote can import and export Powerpoint files.

There are a number of issues that you should be aware of if you want to transtere between the two applications; fonts, animations (builds), transitions and themes not available to keynote wont import or export.

If you want to operate a fail safe presentation, continue to use use PowerPoint and use Keynote for stand alone presentations.

This used to work, but now I get an error saying that the file needs to be repaired when I try to open in powerpoint. Has anyone else had this issue?
