Problems password protecting my Airport Extreme USB hard drive?

I have an older model (flat square) Airport Extreme with an external hard drive attached via USB that I use as a media server for my Macbook Air and AppleTV. I would like to put a password on the hard drive so that others sharing the wireless network cannot access the drive.

I started a thread about this already and encountered many problems and still have not gotten it to work. Read about it in this Apple Discussion Thread, but long story short, Airport Utility is not playing nice.

I really need help on this. Anyone?

That may be your only path if you need to get this resolved.

Hundreds of users have seen your original post and if any of them were having the same kind of issue, we would have surely heard from them as well.

Just checked again to make sure....but I cannot duplicate the error that you are reporting.

Good luck. Sorry that I cannot help, but I will watch this thread.
