USB 3 will not PNP on my MacBook Pro (Core 2 Duo)
USB 3 devices are not Plug and Playing on my Macbook Pro. Does anyone else have this problem? Will Apple fix it?
Time Machine-OTHER, Mac OS X (10.6.7)

If you have a Core2 Duo processor, then your MacBook Pro only has USB 2.0. If it is not detecting USB3.0 devices, I would check with the device manufacturer to verify that they support backwards compatibility to USB 2.0. It could be that the devices don't support it, or that they are "faulty". I have no issues with my Core2 Duo MacBook Pro 3,1 recognizing USB devices when they are connected, but since it is only USB 2.0, I only own a couple USB 3.0 devices and I have only connected them to it a few times.
I've tried two different USB 3.0 devices and neither one PnP on my USB 2.0 bus, but they should. I don't know if its the devices or the OS. One device that won't PnP is an ainker 3.0 USB hub that has an external power supply.
