Using Contacts for holiday cards
Hi,
Contacts seems a very straight forward app to create labels. You create a new group for say Xmas cards, and then choose your recipients, and drop each card into that new group. Using the Print function then allows you to print a whole sheet of labels easily.
However, I don't see much flexibility in how we address people for different events. A Birthday card is normally sent to the individual and so the Contacts App works fine for that scenario. However, at Holiday times, there is a need to either be more formal, or less specific. i.e The card shouldn't be labeled for 'Mark Smith' but instead it needs to be 'The Smith Family' or even 'Mr & Mrs Smith'.
The Contacts App doesn't appear to have this flexibility. You are stuck with only the first name it sees on the card.
Does anyone have any suggestions, workarounds?
Btw, I really don't want to have to re-edit everyone's name in order to get the Xmas cards organized, and then two weeks later, re-edit them back to the previous version. If I don't re-edit back to the original version, then I find phone calls are difficult to trace which member of the family is calling e.g. I would no longer call my friend 'Mark Smith' - but either the 'Smith Family' or 'Mr & Mrs Smith'.
Thanks for any help with this issue.
