Removing Finder From Dock

Yes, Pete, I use my dock pretty much every time I use my computer. To each their own, I suppose.

Why would you wish to remove it? Not that I think you can anyway. I use it to open new finder windows with one click. I don't understand what purpose it's removal would serve? But you may have a reason so eleborate on it.

I loved being able to remove Finder from the dock in previous versions of the OS. I don't use Finder and so removing it made the other icons that I do use larger and the dock more functional, as I only keep a few icons in there permanently. For me, having Finder in the dock is an eyesore and a frustrating lack of customization.

Hey, so I updated my version of Path Finder and that can remove the Finder from the dock in Mavericks.
