There was a problem connecting to the server

User uploaded file

Hello,

I get the attached error screen at login. This only happens when user is logging in without network connectivity or when logging in outside our corporate network...

The computer is a MacBook Air (13-inch Mid 2011) (MacBookAir 4,2) running 10.8.5 with all latest software updates.

The computer is connected to an AD environment with Use UNC path from Active Directory checked in Directory Utility.

The issue began when I migrated user from older MacBook Air running 10.6.8 to the current Air. I used Carbon Copy Cloner and Apple Migration Assistant to move account data - no apps - to a clean system install.

The server in the error was hard coded into Login Items for all users under 10.6.8, yet from what I can tell it is no longer included in the Login Items for AD Users under 10.8.5, so that may be the issue. I'm unsure how to get rid of this hard coded item to test:

I have been unable to find any permanent fixes...

I have tried booting in safe modewhich fixes the issue yet it returns upon reboot.

I tried all the fixes listed in this thread.

I checked Console and the only error I could find at the time of startup regarding the server san01:

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I did some testing and found the server is listed and uneditable in Login Items when I bind 10.8.5 computers to our AD.
